Fora.TV obtains $4 Million in First Round from Adobe…

Microsoft Zune adds South Park and other TV shows to store…

Microsoft is looking to beef up the content available on it’s Zune players by adding downloadable television shows from NBC, MTV, Comedy Central and more. The available titles will include South Park, The Office, Battlestar Galactica, Robot Chicken, and Eureka. This is the latest attempt by Microsoft to make sure Zune stands strong in the portable content player market.

ABC plans to bulk up ads in online shows…

I guess we could call this a test, but ABC is planning to bulk up its online shows with more ads and commercials. When online users stream in HD episodes of “Lost” and “Desperate Houswives” they can expect to “temporarily” see more ads then they already do. Although, as Doug Caverly suggests, its most likely that online TV will eventually become more like the traditional thing.

Web gives old TV shows a new lease on life…

Television distributors are now growing more keen to the idea of opening up the TV vaults and streaming old TV series online. With the presence of sites such as Hulu, Joost and Veoh the audience and ad dollars to be made are becoming much more formidable and opening the eyes of certain TV executives. “We have all this library content, and we’ve been surprised at how much interest there is in it,” Jeff Zucker, the CEO of NBC Universal, said recently. “Frankly, if there is one person interested it — and there are streaming costs so you have to make sure you’re covering that — we’ve found it’s a new opportunity for our content.”

Myspace and ShineReveille form partnership for global TV…

MySpace has signed a distribution deal with UK TV production house ShineReveille that’s intended to expand the reach of their original programming internationally and online, according to The Hollywood Reporter.
